Creating a Private Event

When you have selected the ‘Event’ option, you should choose whether its a public or a private event. Be sure to select this because it can be overlooked. You can change the privacy of the event from the top left side of the pop-up page. 

If you start creating a Private Event, you cannot change it to Public afterwords. This is for the privacy of your guests. 

Then the next thing you can do is picking images for your event. You can add photos, choose a theme, or a video. You can do these from the ‘Event Photo or Video’ section. You will see two buttons that say ‘Choose a Theme’ and ‘Upload Photo or Video.’ 

You will also see the Recommended Themes below. You can pick one of them to make the process quicker.

Then the next step you should do is adding the Event Name, Location, and Description. You will see their boxes on the same pop-up page as well.

Then you will add the timing details of your event. You will see two boxes. One of them is a calendar to arrange your event’s date and time, and the other one is a clock. You can change the time zone by the button next to the clock. If you want, you can add an End Time, but this is not mandatory.

Lastly, you can add Co-hosts. There will be two boxes for you to click on to choose ‘Guest can invite friends’ and ‘Show guest list.’

Creating a Public Event

Creating a public event can be an effective way for things events like concerts for selling tickets online. Creating a Public Event is not very different than creating a private one. However, there are some different options on the Public Event adjustments. 

The very first step to take is clicking on the ‘Events’ button on the left column. Then click on ‘Create Event.’

The pop-up page is pretty much the same as a Private Event, but now you can select a host if you have more than one Facebook page.
