How to Create a Poll on Facebook (2022)

If you want to create a poll on Facebook for your account, follow these steps below on “how to make a poll on Facebook.”

Throughout social media platforms, polls have proven to be very successful in getting engagement from users and showing what people think about a certain topic.

Social media realized the power of polls, and almost all of the big companies and brands online have incorporated polls into their arsenal. It seems like people love to declare their opinions and preferences.

On Facebook, you can do this manually by asking a direct question on a status. However, with a feature such as Facebook polls, you don’t need to do that.

Let’s take a look at Facebook for now.

How to Create a Facebook Poll on a Page

If you are ready to post your first poll and open a new door for building a strong connection with your visitors and customers, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the link https://apps.facebook.com/my-polls/start?ref=blog-create, or just search for “Poll” in the Facebook search bar.
  2. Enter the poll title and click on “Next: Questions.”
  3. Fill out the question and the possible answers.
  4. It’s done!

It’s pretty straightforward. You ask a question; your visitors will make their choice between two answers, and you’ll seal the deal.

The poll creating process won’t take much of your time, and you can post an unlimited amount of them. In that way, there are no boundaries for what you can do with your posts, and possibilities are endless as you utilize it as much as you want.

For example, let’s say your question is, “Who do you think is going to win the NBA playoffs?” you would then type in “Toronto Raptors” and “Golden State Warriors” as your options.

How to Create a Facebook Poll on a Group

It should be noted that if you want to create a Facebook poll with more than two options, this is something only available to Facebook Groups.

  1. If you want to make a poll on any Group, simply go to your Group Page.
  2. After that, click or tap at the top status bar where it says, “Write something.”
  3. Now, select the ‘Publishing Tools’ option.
  4. Once you are in the Publishing Tools Page, click on ‘+Create’ and select ‘Poll.’
  5. Enter the question and the possible answers.
  6. In this way, you can have as many answers as you want.

If you don’t want people to add their options or select multiple options, you can set it, so in the “Post Options” settings on the left corner, you can uncheck those settings.

You can also have the option to add a scheduled time you would like your poll to be posted. It’s also important to figure out when your poll will end as the poll’s owner can adjust the end time.

Conclusion – Polls Are Very Beneficial

In conclusion, polls can be very beneficial for business owners as you can specifically target a certain audience or be just plain entertaining for your followers.

This no longer works with the new redesign. I think Facebook took the ability to create polls aware from regular users. I can’t find any way to create one and the link you supplied doesn’t work. Searching for “poll” also doesn’t work. March 2020.

Agree. I have been trying to post a poll in the business publishing tools like I’ve always done but when I schedule or try to post it says “Something went wrong. We’re working on getting it fixed as soon as we can.” I’ve been trying for a week.

As of September, polls are still no longer functional and despite the questions asked about it, FB Community is not answering questions as to why polls no longer work.

The reason is political, so Facebook will never answer the question. They don’t want people using their platform to demonstrate the popularity of political views that contradict their own.

This information is outdated. The poll does not have unlimited options when you’re in a group. I created one and within 48 hours and maxed out the number of options in our group. Facebook keeps screwing around with things that work!

Nowadays, marketeers create a poll on Facebook to gather more data about the product they plan on promoting. It’s a sneaky yet clever way to have insight about people’s opinions. When I was working as a marketeer back in the day, we didn’t have options like these.

I tried creating a poll today, on my business page, and there were some problems. It does not give you the option to create a poll when you create a post from your page but when I went to Business Suite it worked, creating it under Publishing Tools. And it looked correct as my business page but when I logged on as my personal profile it didn’t show up. The question showed up but not the two options to vote on. I also had my husband check from his Facebook account and it didn’t look right either. There is something wrong with Facebook polls but not sure what. Hopefully you have an answer? Thanks.

I’ve created a poll in my Facebook Group.
    I’ve entered 8 options.
When I try to post my poll I get a message that says: Add text captions. Each of the options in your poll must have a text caption.
But I’ve added text captions for the 8 options!
Please can you tell me How can I post my poll or at least what is wrong?

Hello. Maybe the texts you have added were too long.

I’ve noticed you can create polls in groups, but I can’t create a poll on my page, despite being the admin. Still out for personal accounts, too. Has anyone seen anything addressing this?
