APA is one of the most frequently used formats in academic studies. Here we will see how to cite websites in-text.

In-Text Citation of a Website in APA Format

If you are referring to an entire website, you can write the URL in parentheses after the name of the website.

Example: As one of the most used social media platforms, Facebook, retrieved from (http://www.facebook.com), was developed by Mark Zuckerberg.

You don’t need to do a citation in the reference page for an entire website unless you are not referring to a specific webpage.

To refer to a certain page or article in Chicago style, you can use this following general format:

x. Author’s first and last name (if there is one), title, publisher (the website name), last modified date, [URL], accessed (date)

As an example: 6.Goodwin Jazmin, Global oil prices bounce back after hitting a 21-year low, CNN, April 22, 2020, https://edition.cnn.com/2020/04/21/investing/global-stocks/index.html, accessed (April 22, 2020)
